The Platinum Blu began as a collaborative glass sculpture series between Michael Palazzo and Natty Gray with the assistance of Richard Zimmerman, LoDrum, George Christ, and Tony Hudgens after Michael Palazzo began to fixate on the color of Bud Light Platinum bottles. After saving roughly more than three hundred bottles over the summer of 2022, the bottles were cleaned, smashed, and the shards melted down in to dense, solid discs that embody the concentrated essence of the magical Platinum Blu color that Michael Palazzo had fallen in love with. They were exhibited at his Platinum Blu Gallery Exhibit at Living Arts in January of 2023 and were a source of inspiration for the paintings he made alongside them.

In the summer of 2023, shards from some of the failed Platinum Blu sculptures were reimagined by fine jewelry makers, Dillon Rose, in Tulsa, OK as a small collaborative collection titled Platinum Rose, debuted in July of 2023. Platinum Blu and Platinum Rose stand as testaments to the art of friendship and community, and the desire to reimagine even the most mundane as something spectacular.
